Known as the Anse de Fautéa (Cove of Fautéa), attractive small Fautéa beach is located on the Côte des Nacres (Mother of Pearl Coast), north of Porto-Vecchio towards Solenzara.
The beaches along this stretch of coast are not quite as popular as those closer to Porto-Vecchio, however Fautéa is worth a visit if you are passing or are in search of less crowded beaches.
Beach Description
Fautéa is an attractive undeveloped sandy 300 m cove, separated from a further section of beach to the north by a headland with an impressive Genoese watchtower.
A footpath links the two beaches (or there is separate access from the road). There are good snorkelling opportunities around the headlands, with some deep drops in the sea to the south.

There are no beach facilities on the southern Fautéa cove, however a nice family-friendly beach/bar restaurant "Le Fautéa" is located on the northern beach.
This northern beach tends to be busier than the main cove, possibly as beach parking is available at the restaurant (the road runs right past the beach), whereas Fautéa cove requires a 400 m walk down from the road.

Facilities
Beach bar/restaurant No facilities at Fautéa cove. "Le Fautéa" restaurant is located on the smaller northern beach, separated from Fautéa by a headland. Drive immediately north of Fautéa cove to reach the restaurant car park, take care when exiting the car park as it's on a dangerous corner.
Water Sports No organized sport facilities, however some good snorkelling opportunities.
Parking
For Fautéa southern cove, park on the N198 road (free parking) and take one of two paths leading 400 m through scrub to the beach. The northern cove is directly on the road, so park on the road or in the restaurant car park.
Directions
Fautéa is located on the N198, a 40-minute drive north of Porto-Vecchio towards Solenzara. Park on the roadside and 400 m walk down the gently sloping paths to the southern beach. The northern beach is slightly further along the N198 directly by the road.
